Honda Places Four Vehicles on 2019 American-Made Index!

Recently, Cars.com reported the results of their annual top ten American-Made Index, reflecting the 10 models that editors contribute the most to our national economy. This year, Honda saw four vehicles place in the 2019 American-Made Index list, just as the company is preparing for its September celebration marking 40 years of making products in the United States.

All Honda vehicles to place in the 2019 American-Made Index Top 10 were produced at the Honda Manufacturing of Alabama facility in Lincoln, AL. In addition, each was designed and developed by Honda R&D Americas, Inc., which is based in both Ohio and California.

In 2018, Honda manufactured more than 1.2 cars and trucks in the United States. Over the past five years, the company has invested over $5.9 billion in U.S. operations, with the cumulative investment in the company's 12 major manufacturing facility totaling more than $20 billion.

The Cars.com methodology for determining their American-Made Index rankings includes five factors: where a vehicle is assembled, the vehicle's domestic-parts content, where the engines and transmissions come from, and how many U.S. factory workers are directly employed relative to vehicle sales. In this era of increased globalization, many car-shoppers are looking to direct their attention to brands that invest in the nation's economy and workforce.
